University of Findlay Theatre Presents “Digging Up Dessa”

The University of Findlay Theatre Program is proud to present “Digging Up Dessa,” a heartfelt and imaginative play that brings science, history, and an empowering message to the stage. Performances will take place at the Frank J. Egner Center for the Performing Arts, in the John and Hester Powell Grimm Theatre, located at 1010 N. Cory St., Findlay.
Performance Dates & Times:
- Friday, September 26 at 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, September 27 at 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday, September 28 at 2 p.m.

About the Show:
Dessa is a curious and determined 12-year-old fossil hunter, eager to make her first big discovery. Along the way, she gets an unexpected assist from 19th-century British paleontologist Mary Anning, but only Dessa can see her. As Dessa learns about Mary’s contributions to science and how they’ve been overlooked due to her gender, she sets out to correct both the historical and fossil records.
“Digging Up Dessa” is appropriate for all ages and offers a thoughtful blend of humor, science, and history. The production is licensed through The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock of Woodstock, Illinois.
