UF Community to Celebrate Philanthropy on Day of Giving March 27
Together, on Thursday, March 27, University of Findlay alumni, friends, faculty, staff, students, and community members will celebrate the University’s annual Day of Giving.
This year’s philanthropic event is highlighting how gifts to the Findlay Fund change students’ lives, make higher education more affordable, and enrich the student experience.
“When you give on this day, you keep the Findlay experience vibrant and enrich the lives of UF students,” explained Madelynn Greenslade ‘21 UF director of annual giving. “Every gift – no matter the amount – transforms the future of UF and is deeply appreciated.”
The event kicks off by “Ringing in Day of Giving” at the bell tower at noon on March 27, along with President Katherine Fell, Ph.D., mascot Derrick the Oiler, and the UF marching band. UF Board of Trustees member Melissa Duflock ’89 will present the first official gift of the day.
Honoring the rich tradition of philanthropy at the University, several generous donors have made challenge gifts totaling more than $35,000 to encourage more Oiler alumni and friends to come together and participate.
Last year, 554 donors made gifts totaling $123,253 during the Day of Giving celebration, according to Greenslade, surpassing the goal of 500 donors.
“UF students rely on the support of our loyal alumni and friends,” she noted. “Your generous gifts provide vital financial and educational resources that our students depend on to achieve success.”
Gifts to the Findlay Fund provide Merit scholarships, student health services, facility maintenance, student technology and transportation, Oiler athletics, Campus Ministries, and more.
Donations can be made online through the University’s secure, online service Give Campus or dayofgiving.findlay.edu. All gifts are tax-deductible.
Donors can increase their Day of Giving impact by becoming an advocate for UF. They can create a free online account by registering at dayofgiving.findlay.edu to help spread the news on social media and encourage others to give.
