Taking the temperature of personal health in America – and the health care system at large – will be the theme of the October 3 “Fridays at Findlay” presentation at the University of Findlay.
Myron Lewis, MSW, MBA, FACHE, president and CEO of Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS), will give a presentation: “Are You Healthier Than Healthcare?”
He will focus on a fresh look at personal health, the healthcare industry, and how both impact the local health system. UF President Katherine Fell, Ph.D., will lead a guided conversation with Lewis, followed by a question-and-answer session.
The event is open to the public and will take place in the Winebrenner Building, TLB Auditorium on the UF campus. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. for a breakfast buffet with the presentation from 7:50 to 9 a.m.
Beginning at 7 a.m., BVHS also will offer free screenings for high blood pressure, cholesterol, and sugar checks to all guests.
BVHS is one of the largest employers in the area, with more than 3,400 associates serving eight counties centralized in Hancock County.
Mr. Lewis holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University, a master’s degree in clinical social work (MSW) from Western Michigan University, an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
He also is a craftsman woodworker, published author of “Making Right Turns in Your Relationship,” and a state champion bike racer X2.
Sponsored by WesBanco, the Fridays at Findlay lecture series encourages continued educational opportunities for members of the community, the campus, and alumni.
Register online by Oct. 2 at www.findlay.edu/FridaysAtFindlay or call University Advancement at 419-434-5334 for more information. The fee is $12 for adults and $6 for students.
